You are the cause

Throw a pebble into the water and
Watch how far the ripples go
Keep throwing and see
How deeper and wider they spread.

Start a thought in your mind and
You can’t see its ripples spreading,
But spreading they are, into
The minds of those around you.

Keep reinforcing the thought,
And the ripples go deeper and wider,
Bringing about actions from
Those whom the ripples have reached.

You spread loving thoughts,
Love comes back to you.
Hatred will bring back hatred.
So when you are complaining
Of the circumstances around you,
Stop, think, and observe
The thought waves you are transmitting.
Take the pain to correct them
And Lo! Your world turns wonderful
In no time at all!

Take charge of your body

Heart Diseases, diabetes and arthritis are affecting younger generations in recent years. We have to think of two aspects about these. One is, no disease can attack the body without a seed in the mind. Each one affected by a disease has to analyze his/her mind and find out this seed and eliminate it. Is it pent up anger, jealousy, depression or greed?

Secondly, don’t blindly believe whatever the doctor says. The moral values are at the rock bottom in our societies now and all doctors are not exceptions. Every body is in a hurry to make money, and so are the doctors, and this leads to misdiagnosis in many cases.

At the click of a mouse you can get information on any disease and treatment options from the internet. Understand them and take active part in the decision making process. After all, it is your body. Learn and train yourself to listen to your body and you will be surprised at the amount of control you can exercise in keeping it fit and healthy!

Sixth Sense

Development of computers and internet has turned the whole world into a 'Global village', it is claimed. Great! Anybody with these facilities can have access to the pool of information on anything under the sun.

Come to think of it, when was the world not a global village? The knowledge pool is out there, was always there for anybody with developed antennas to gain access. What are these antennas? The sixth sense which is present in each one of us but very few develop it. We are more concerned about the other five senses.

Consider the sense of hearing. Unless we develop it, can we distinguish between the different musical instruments used in an orchestra and enjoy all of them when a song is being played? Similarly if we devote time and effort, we can develop our sixth sense and gain access to the Universal Knowledge pool. Doesn't it sound great?

And , do you know that your sixth sense can save your life?

How to develop sixth sense

With patience and perseverance we can develop our sixth sense. We were all born with it. But either we never cared to nurture it, or ignored it. Remember the time you were going to eat that piece of cake  when your stomach was full and you felt something inside you telling that you shouldn't be eating it. But if that message is ignored and many similar incidences happen, you stop feeling that.

If you are in the habit of meditating, after you finish, spend some time just going through every part of your body, starting from the soles to the top of your head. Try to feel what the body is trying to communicate with you.

An everyday exercise

Make each meal a meditative exercise. When a morsel is being chewed in the mouth, be totally aware. As you swallow, try to feel the journey of that food through the food pipe to the stomach. After one particular morsel, the body will give the signal, 'Enough of food for now.' Try to catch that signal.

Over time you will see that your sensitivity increases and you will get back the sixth sense that you were born with.

Teeth are valuable assets

Everybody will agree with me when I say that eating is one of the important functions in life. Either we may be eating to live or living to eat. Whatever it is, a full set of healthy teeth are essential to enjoy the food. Though our teeth are meant to last a lifetime, many of us manage to damage our teeth. Once a cavity forms in the tooth, it has to be filled with some material to prevent further progression of the cavity and to preserve the tooth in a functional state.
There are arguments that amalgam fillings (in spite of its being used for 100 years) can create many systemic diseases and people are getting amalgam fillings replaced. Now there is a lobby saying that materials used for root canal fillings are also injurious to health. So what is the option once the tooth is badly damaged? Extraction?
The best way is to see that your teeth are not damaged. Take care of your teeth and enjoy happy chewing.

Work towards your health

If we have to be really, really thankful to one thing in life, it is our health. Health forms the basis for our happiness, clear thinking and material wealth. We cannot enjoy the beauty of sunrise if we get up with arthritic pain and cannot relish the sweetmeats if affected with diabetes. There is a common notion that "After 40 years of age anyway we will have to forgo sweets and rich food, so let's enjoy now."
Nothing is farther from the truth. This human body is made to enjoy everything in life till the last day, provided the body is not abused. Whoever takes care of the body by living in tune with nature, and do things in moderation during their youth will definitely enjoy till the last breath. We can't take health for granted, but have to work towards it each day.

The effort is worth it.

With today’s media coverage and other avenues to distract the youth, parents are worried about their children. Can 20 years of proper upbringing and moral lessons guarantee that your child will not stray? The answer is a big NO.

But if there is a chance of his reverting back, it is the previous upbringing that will make it possible. As per the law of Karma, the effort put in to bring up your child, will eventually pay back.

Thinking beyond oneself

Recently I heard a colleague remarking, ' I have seen that among professional couples, almost always the wife reaches only upto a certain level whereas the husband will be an achiever and go to great heights'

Friends, can you think why it may be so?

While the fairer ( and supposedly the weaker) sex has taken up professional resposibilities along with the household work, their counter parts just refuse to lessen their workload at the home front. So when the children's education also starts, she has to set her priorities and decide to keep professional achievements at the back seat. This in no way reflects lack of quality in her. In how many households do you see the husbands taking up at least the responsibility of supervising their children's homework?

By striving to develop her children by stealing away some of her professional time, she is creating responsible citizens and better families of tomorrow.

My First post

Friends,

Time is cyclic, not linear as most of us think. Resisting changes in life will only bring sorrow. Try to be on top of the wave and enjoy the ride, instead of remaining at the bottom and resisting the movements. Have a great day, be connected to the universal consciousness of everlasting happiness.
Did you know that happiness is just a decision ?
Do take a look at my webpage www.healthmantra.com/peace.htm
I am waiting to hear from you.
